Acre education union denounces R$ 500 million budget cut

The Acre Education Workers Union (Sinteac) has denounced a reduction of more than R$ 500 million in projected education funding within the Budgetary Guidelines Law (LDO) proposed by Governor Mailza Assis.

Sinteac president Rosana Nascimento stated that the initial projection exceeded R$ 2.5 billion, comprising state resources and federal funds from the Fundeb. The union warns that these cuts will jeopardize teacher salary adjustments, the reform of the Career and Remuneration Plan (PCCR), and general improvements to working conditions.

Nascimento criticized the administration, alleging that the government is penalizing the education sector to compensate for excessive spending and debts in other areas. The union is currently reviewing the project and intends to pressure both the governor's office and state deputies to protect education resources.
