Acre Military Police begin training for new Glock pistols

The Military Police of Acre (PMAC) has begun training more than 200 officers from the 6th Battalion in Cruzeiro do Sul on the use of new Glock 9mm pistols. The training, conducted at the Specialized Policing Company (CPE), includes practical instruction and live firing exercises to ensure officers are qualified to use the new equipment during operational service.

The acquisition of these fifth-generation Glock pistols marks a modernization effort for the force, replacing older models. The new 9mm caliber weapons are described as lighter, more compact, and having a higher ammunition capacity compared to previous equipment. This shift follows a broader trend among police forces in Brazil and internationally to move from .40 caliber to 9mm.

Sub-commander Thales Campos stated that the training will be renewed every six months to keep personnel updated and prepared. General Commander Colonel Marta Renata emphasized that the delivery of modern weaponry must be accompanied by professional training to ensure effective use.
