Acre police investigate torture and execution of man in Rio Acre

Investigators in Acre are working to clarify the death of Fredson Menezes de Oliveira, a 47-year-old man living on the streets. His body was discovered in the Rio Acre in the Cadeia Velha neighborhood, showing visible signs of torture, including broken arms and two gunshot wounds to the head.

Police suspect the murder may be linked to a drug debt. Authorities are investigating whether a local drug trafficker had been pressuring Oliveira to settle his debts through threats. Investigators are currently seeking surveillance footage and witnesses to determine how the victim was attacked and moved to the riverbank. The homicide department (DHPP) has interviewed the victim's sister and aims to resolve the case within a 30-day investigative period.
