Acre producers recognized in Brazil's Coffee of the Year 2026

Four coffee producers from the state of Acre have been selected among the top 30 canephora coffees in Brazil for the Coffee of the Year 2026 competition. The recognized producers include Celso Timpurim Caffer, Marcelo de Lara Caffer, and Vanderlei de Lara from Acrelândia, as well as José Leite de Lima from Cruzeiro do Sul.

This achievement places Acre among the states with the highest number of representatives in the category, following Espírito Santo and Amazonas. The competition is part of the International Coffee Week (SIC), scheduled to take place from November 11 to 13 at Expominas in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.

The Coffee of the Year contest aims to identify and promote high-quality coffee from various Brazilian regions. In the canephora category, the top five coffees will advance to a popular vote conducted through blind tastings during the event, with the awards ceremony expected on November 13.
