Acre reports 2,248 severe respiratory cases and 57 deaths in 2026

The state of Acre has recorded 2,248 cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SRAG) and 57 deaths between the first and 34th epidemiological weeks of 2026, according to the State Health Secretariat (Sesacre).

This figure represents an increase compared to the same period in 2024 (2,049 cases) and 2025 (1,730 cases). While notifications have slowed in the last six weeks, the data shows a significant rise in positive tests starting from week 32, signaling a potential new wave of Covid-19.

Rio Branco has the highest absolute number of cases with 972 records. However, municipalities such as Marechal Thaumaturgo, Mâncio Lima, and Jordão show higher incidence rates relative to their populations. Assis Brasil is also noted as a point of attention due to its border location and international transit. Identified viruses include Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Rhinovirus, and various strains of Influenza.
