Acre reports high household debt and rising delinquency rates
In August, household indebtedness in the state of Acre remained high, with approximately 82.8% of families reporting debt. According to data from Fecomércio-AC, while the absolute number of indebted families saw a slight shift, the proportion of families with overdue accounts rose to 54,289, representing a 0.8 percentage point increase. Additionally, the number of families stating they lack the means to pay their debts rose to 17,263.
Data from Serasa indicates that delinquency affects 47.35% of the adult population in Acre. While this rate is lower than the Brazilian national average of 51.06%, it remains significant. In terms of debt resolution, Acre recorded 18,916 agreements through the Serasa Limpa Nome program in August. Although the volume of negotiations is relatively low compared to other northern states like Amazonas or Pará, there were over 2.5 million debt renegotiation offers available to consumers in the state.
