Acre Senate poll shows Bittar ahead; state secretary denies vice‑governor talks with Vagner Sales
A recent Delta Institute poll for the 2026 Acre Senate race places Senator Márcio Bittar in the lead with 19.12% of voter intention. In the first scenario, former governor Gladson Cameli follows closely at 17.87%, with former governor Jorge Viana at 16.81%, a margin within the poll's 3.5‑point error, effectively a tie for second place. A second simulation that excludes Cameli shows Bittar ahead at 21.43%, Viana at 18.87% and Mara Rocha at 16.44%.
Separately, State Secretary of Government Luiz Calixto said he has no knowledge of any negotiations for Vagner Sales to become the vice‑governor on Governor Mailza Assis's ticket. Calixto emphasized that the governor has never discussed the matter with him, contradicting earlier reports that Sales was being positioned as a running mate. The secretary also mentioned Sales's daughter, former federal deputy Jéssica Sales, will run for a seat in the Chamber of Deputies.
