Acre state ordered to verify correction of public employees' tax data

The Labor Union of Health Professionals in Acre (Sindmed‑AC) obtained an injunction from the 1st Public Treasury Court in Rio Branco, compelling the state government to prove that tax information for 1,443 state employees has been corrected after inconsistencies were identified. The court noted duplicate records and misuse of tax codes that could affect income‑tax statements.

The ruling requires the Acre administration to submit, within 48 hours, proof that the corrective declaration sent to the Federal Revenue Service was accepted, that all affected employees' data have been updated, and that revised income statements have been issued. Failure to comply triggers a daily fine of R$1,000, initially capped at R$30,000, and the state must also inform employees of any further actions needed for their personal tax filings.
