Acreano Football Second Division tournament begins
The 10th Acreano Football Championship Second Division begins this Tuesday at the Tonicão Stadium. The tournament features a two-turn format where the champion of each turn earns promotion to the state's elite division for the next season.
To encourage new talent, the competition is restricted to athletes aged 23 and under. Financial support for the clubs is provided through an agreement between the State Government and the Acre Football Federation (FFAC). Participating clubs will receive a R$ 50,000 bonus, with additional prizes of R$ 40,000 for the champion and R$ 25,000 for the runner-up.
Historical records indicate that while previous amateur-era competitions like the Campeonato Suburbano and Torneio da Imprensa existed, this marks a formalized era for the Second Division. Past recorded champions in similar historical contexts include Botafogo (1951), Floresta (1970), and São Francisco (1977).
