Elias de Oliveira Júnior targeted in Rio Branco ambush

Elias de Oliveira Júnior, also known as ‘Sabiá’, was the target of an ambush on the BR-364 highway in Rio Branco. The 45-year-old was driving a Chevrolet Prisma when four men in a white vehicle opened fire on his car.

Police reports indicate that Elias, who has a criminal history including drug trafficking and alleged involvement in organized crime, was shot in the leg during the encounter. Despite the attack, he managed to reach a residential area to seek help before being intercepted by the Military Police and transported to a medical facility in stable condition.

Investigators from the Homicide and Person Protection Police Station (DHPP) believe the attempted murder may be linked to conflicts between criminal factions. The case is currently under investigation.
