Acroarte to honor journalist Juan Taveras Hernández at 2026 Gala

The Association of Art Chroniclers (Acroarte) has announced that the XV Acroarte Journalism Merit Award Gala, scheduled for September 1, 2026, will be dedicated to journalist Juan Taveras Hernández. The honor recognizes his 50 years of uninterrupted professional career and his commitment to communication and Dominican society.

Taveras Hernández, also known as ‘Juan TH’, has a long-standing career spanning radio, television, print, and digital media. He has worked with ‘El Nacional’ for over 40 years and has served as a commentator for various programs, including ‘El Show del Mediodía’ and ‘7 x 7 Roberto’.

The ceremony will also recognize members of civil society and media professionals from Acroarte’s national headquarters and its branches in Santiago, New York, and Miami who have contributed to the promotion of journalism, art, and culture in the Dominican Republic.
