Acrocorinth Castle to receive 1.3 million euros for architectural lighting

The Peloponnese Region has announced a funding call of 1.3 million euros for the architectural lighting and enhancement of Acrocorinth Castle. This initiative, authorized by Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos, is part of the Peloponnese Regional Development Program 2026–2030.

The project involves the design, procurement, and installation of a modern architectural lighting system intended to highlight the castle, its walls, and its unique historical and architectural features. The plan emphasizes respect for the monument's character and the natural environment, utilizing photometric design and international standards to ensure reversible interventions, protect local flora and fauna, and limit light pollution.

Through this intervention, the Region aims to strengthen the protection and aesthetic presentation of the castle, improve the visitor experience, and boost tourism in the area. This project follows similar initiatives for the Monemvasia Rock and the Leonidio Rock as part of a broader strategy to promote the Peloponnese's cultural heritage.
