Acropolis Mall case: Six youths granted bail after alleged assault

Six youths have been granted bail following their arrest for the alleged molestation and assault of a woman inside a cinema hall at Acropolis Mall. According to the FIR, the woman and her companions were targeted by the accused, who allegedly made obscene gestures and sexually explicit remarks before the situation escalated into violence.

The accused were booked under several sections, including wrongful restraint, voluntarily causing hurt, and assault with intent to outrage modesty. Kolkata Police stated that the individuals must report to the police station twice daily for 15 days, followed by once daily for an additional 15 days.

The bail decision has triggered political tension, with the Mamata All India Trinamool Congress criticizing the BJP-ruled administration. The party alleged that the incident demonstrates a failure in law and order, questioning the government's ability to ensure safety for women in public spaces.
