ACT Government offers $500,000 reward for cold case information

The ACT Government has announced rewards of up to $500,000 for information leading to the successful prosecution of individuals responsible for five unsolved homicide or missing persons cases.

Among the cases is the 1971 disappearance and death of Keren Rowland, a 20-year-old dental nurse. Her remains were discovered in a pine plantation near Canberra airport. Her family has long suspected she may have been the first victim of serial killer Ivan Milat, a theory supported by a taskforce investigation into the Belanglo State Forest backpacker murders.

Other cases eligible for the reward include the 1980 disappearance of 18-year-old Elizabeth Herfort, the 1984 disappearance of 17-year-old Megan Louise Mulquiney, and the 1987 death of 17-year-old Troy Hugh Forsyth, who was struck by a panel van in Deakin.
