ACTC president claims control over 92% of Argentine motorsport

A power struggle persists within Argentine motorsport regarding institutional authority between the Automóvil Club Argentino (ACA) and the Asociación Corredores Turismo Carretera (ACTC). While the ACA is recognized by the FIA as the country's sole National Sporting Authority, the ACTC has significantly expanded its influence over various categories and pilots.

Hugo Mazzacane, president of the ACTC, recently claimed that his organization manages “92% of national motorsport” and asserted that this dominance should be officially recognized. The conflict centers on whether controlling the majority of racing categories equates to possessing formal sporting power, a tension highlighted by a 2001 document signed by Mazzacane that clarifies the existing institutional framework.
