Action discounter reports €8.3 bn revenue in H1 2026 and adds 121 stores
The Dutch non‑food retailer Action posted a 14 % rise in net revenue to €8.3 billion in the first half of 2026, driven by higher weekly footfall of 22.7 million customers. The chain opened 121 new stores, bringing its network to 3,423 locations across 15 European countries and creating more than 4,400 jobs.
Growth continued despite global economic uncertainty, with price‑cut strategies attracting cost‑conscious shoppers. Action was named favourite brand among young consumers in Belgium and received France’s “Enseigne Préférée des Français” award for four consecutive years. Since 2021 the retailer cut its own CO₂ emissions by 56 % through renewable electricity and bio‑fuel use, and now operates 18 distribution centres supporting its expansion.
The results underscore Action’s rapid scaling and its increasing role as a major employer and low‑price retailer in Europe.
