Action Nouvelle Vie distributes school supplies in Longueuil

Action Nouvelle Vie organized a distribution event in Longueuil on August 12 to provide school supplies and clothing to thousands of children. The organization expected to assist over 3,000 children with new backpacks, personalized supplies, and clothing to help alleviate the financial burden of the upcoming school year.

General Manager Suzanne Fournier noted that the cost of returning to school averages more than $500 per child. She observed that since the pandemic, the number of families seeking assistance from the organization has doubled, with approximately 1,200 families receiving weekly food baskets. Fournier highlighted a trend of the middle class slipping into financial instability.
