Action retailer's TCX brand offers low-cost DIY supplies

TCX is a private label brand belonging to the Dutch discounter Action, specializing in low-cost hardware and DIY supplies. The brand offers a variety of products including adhesive tapes—such as painter's tape, parcel tape, and carpet tape—as well as sealants like silicone and acrylic putty, expanding foam, and joint smoothing sets.

By utilizing private labels, Action avoids the premium costs associated with established brands, allowing them to offer products at significantly lower prices. Action currently operates over 3,300 stores across 15 European countries, including more than 650 locations in Germany. The company is largely owned by the British investor 3i, which holds approximately 80 percent of the shares. Action was recently recognized with the ‘Golden Scaler Award’ as the fastest-growing company in the Netherlands.
