Activist Marlen Vázquez Saavedra found dead in Ensenada ravine

Marlen Vázquez Saavedra, a 37-year-old environmental activist, archaeologist, and real estate agent, was found dead in a ravine along the Ensenada-Tijuana highway. Her body was located alongside her grey 2016 Mazda 3 near the Rancho Oasis and Cibolas del Mar areas.

Vázquez Saavedra had been reported missing after she failed to arrive at her destination in Valle de Guadalupe, where she had intended to show a property. Following her disappearance, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) had issued a public appeal for assistance in locating her.

The recovery operation involved multiple agencies, including municipal police, the National Guard, the Navy, and the State Security Force. The FGE has secured the area and is conducting investigations to determine the official circumstances of her death.
