Activist Ongen criticizes Projo and Budi Arie Setiadi

Activist Yulian Paonganan, known as Ongen, has criticized Projo, the volunteer organization associated with Indonesia's 7th President Joko Widodo. Ongen described the group as “pseudo-volunteers” (relawan semu), arguing they lack a clear political direction and only become active during heated political moments to serve specific interests.

Ongen also addressed recent comments made by Projo Chairman Budi Arie Setiadi regarding potential political shifts before 2029. Following a video where Budi Arie suggested his political instinct saw changes occurring “sooner than 2029,” Ongen urged him to provide constitutional and factual basis for such claims. Ongen cautioned against creating narratives that imply President Prabowo Subianto’s administration may not last its full term, suggesting such statements could be driven by personal disappointment following political reshuffles.
