Activists climb Mount Ararat to advocate for Lake Van protection

Activists climbed to the 5,137-meter summit of Mount Ararat to raise environmental awareness regarding the protection of Lake Van. Upon reaching the peak, the group displayed a banner reading, "Don't let Lake Van get polluted, let it stay blue," to advocate for the preservation of the lake and its surrounding natural environment for future generations.

Local guide Resul Civaş accompanied the group and emphasized the importance of protecting both Mount Ararat and its surroundings. Civaş urged both domestic and foreign climbers to maintain cleanliness and act responsibly, stating, "Please let's keep our mountain clean. Let's protect nature, be sensitive to the environment, and set an exemplary behavior. Mount Ararat is our common value."

The initiative aimed to promote sustainable visitor behavior, waste collection, and increased ecological consciousness among local residents and tourists.
