Activists in Mexico and Chile report cyber harassment and smear campaigns
In Mexico, activist Yeny Charrez has denounced the distribution of sexual content targeting her mother. Charrez alleges the material was part of a “dirty war” political strategy and linked the advertising to Alfonso Sánchez García, a figure associated with the Movimiento Ciudadano party. She has requested an investigation by the Cyber Police of the Tlaxcala Secretariat of Citizen Security to determine the origin of the content.
In Chile, former television personality Rosemarie Dietz announced she would report a series of harassing messages to the PDI (Investigative Police of Chile). Dietz shared that she received an email containing insults and demands that she leave her current position, stating the sender was acting anonymously. This follows previous public disputes regarding her personal life and family matters.
