Activists in Mexico City hold memorial for Palestinian victims

Social activist collectives in Mexico City organized a memorial offering in the city's historic center to honor those killed during the conflict in the Gaza Strip. Held near the Hemiciclo a Juárez, the installation utilized cempasúchil flowers to form the phrase “Viva Palestina Libre,” alongside candles, incense, and colors from the Palestinian flag.

Participating groups, including Plataforma Común por Palestina México, Movimiento al Socialismo, and the Observatorio de los Derechos Humanos de los Pueblos, stated that the death toll may exceed 400,000 when accounting for individuals remains trapped under rubble. The activists expressed concern that despite previous ceasefire announcements, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical, reconstruction efforts are stalled, and political negotiations have not secured a lasting peace.
