Actor Ahn Jin-soo passes away at age 81
South Korean actor Ahn Jin-soo passed away on the 10th at the age of 81. According to his family, the actor had undergone surgery for pancreatic cancer two years ago, but the cancer recurred earlier this year, leading to a decline in his health.
Born in 1945, Ahn was a prolific figure in Korean film and television from the 1970s through the 1990s. He was well-known for his roles in iconic television dramas such as MBC’s ‘Eyes of Dawn’ (1991–1992), SBS’s ‘Sandglass’ (1995), and ‘Yeoincheonha’ (2001–2002).
In cinema, he appeared in approximately 300 films, including works by notable directors such as Bae Chang-ho, Kang Woo-suk, Im Kwon-taek, and Moon Jong-geum. His filmography includes titles like ‘Happy is Not by Grades’ (1989), ‘Two Cops’ (1993), and ‘Taebaek Mountains’ (1994).
His funeral service is scheduled for the morning of the 13th.
