Actor Akshay Oberoi discusses interest in morally grey characters

Actor Akshay Oberoi has expressed his fascination with portraying morally complex characters, noting that such figures “rarely see themselves as the villain of their own story.” Speaking about his upcoming project, Gajab Raat, Oberoi explained that these roles allow him to explore contradictions and emotions that conventional protagonists might not offer.

Gajab Raat features a cast including Nushrratt Bharuccha, Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Dutta, Saqib Saleem, and Kiku Sharda. In the film, Manoj Bajpayee portrays Ajay Nirvit, a corrupt sub-inspector involved in an extortion scheme. The project was formerly titled Ghooskhor Pandat.

Oberoi’s previous work includes roles in Gurgaon, Flesh, Thar, Tony, and the antagonist role in Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups. His upcoming projects include the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer King, which also features Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
