Actor Ayumu Nakajima to discuss career breakthrough on television

Actor Ayumu Nakajima will appear on the MBS/TBS program ‘Nichiyobi no Hatsumimi Gaku’ on August 30 to discuss his career trajectory. After more than a decade of struggling, Nakajima has experienced a significant breakthrough at age 35, following roles in notable works such as ‘T-shirt ga Kawaku made’ and the Taiga drama ‘Toyotomi Kyodai!’.

During the broadcast, Nakajima will reflect on his difficult years, including a period of self-destruction where he drank alcohol starting at 10:00 AM after facing online criticism regarding his performance in the NHK morning drama ‘Hanako to Anne’. He credits his recent success to persistent efforts, such as attending acting workshops and personally promoting himself at film events.

The program will also feature insights into his work on the upcoming morning drama ‘Anpan’. Director Tsuyoshi Yanagawa and actress Mio Imada will provide behind-the-scenes accounts of the production, including details regarding a significant ‘sudden proposal’ scene during the initial filming.
