Cauã Reymond reveals depression after Avenida Brasil fame
Brazilian actor Cauã Reymond disclosed that he experienced a period of depression following the massive success of the telenovela *Avenida Brasil*. Speaking on the Charla Podcast, he said the achievement, his marriage and the birth of his daughter did not prevent a persistent feeling of emptiness. “After *Avenida Brasil* I think I lived a small depression… I didn’t feel fulfilled,” he said.
Reymond traced part of his emotional struggle to a troubled family background, mentioning a mother who was HIV‑positive and a aunt who suffered from schizophrenia. He emphasized that professional therapy was crucial in helping him understand and recover from the episode, stating that sitting in a therapist’s office allowed him to recognize that he had indeed achieved what he wanted.
The actor’s candid discussion adds to growing public dialogue about mental health in Brazil’s entertainment industry.
