Actor Chi Zhongrui removed from Fu Hua Group after wife's death
Chi Zhongrui, the actor known for playing Tang Sanzang in the 1986 version of Journey to the West, has been removed from the shareholder lists of companies associated with the Fu Hua Group following the death of his wife, billionaire Chen Lihua.
Chen Lihua left an estate valued at approximately 47 billion NDT (over 6.8 billion USD). To ensure business stability and prevent internal conflicts, the core assets of the group are being inherited and controlled by her three children.
Despite being removed from the corporate holdings, Chi Zhongrui continues to manage the China Red Sandalwood Museum, a family-owned cultural asset. He reportedly receives a monthly salary of 20,000 NDT for his role as museum chairman. He has gained public respect for choosing not to seek a share of the massive inheritance, instead living a modest lifestyle supported by financial assistance from his stepchildren.
