Actor Hidetaka Yoshioka attended a press event for the special exhibition ‘Daitoku-ji Honcho Muso no Zen-en’ at the Tokyo National Museum. The exhibition, which commemorates the 700th anniversary of the founding of Daitoku-ji temple in Kyoto, runs from October 14 to December 6.
Yoshioka, who is set to portray Sen no Rikyu in the NHK Taiga drama ‘Toyotomi Kyodai!’, expressed his admiration for the historical artifacts on display, specifically noting the Yohen Tenmoku tea bowl. During the event, held in front of a statue of Sen no Rikyu, Yoshioka shared personal anecdotes regarding his relationship with tea, mentioning that he frequently drank tea produced by actor and farmer Min Tanaka during a period when he had abstained from alcohol.
The exhibition features various masterpieces associated with significant historical figures, including Emperor Go-Daigo, Oda Nobunaga, and Sen no Rikyu.
