Actor Jason Lewis Reveals Early Struggles Before 'Sex and the City' Fame

Jason Lewis moved to Paris at age 21 hoping to become a model but faced severe hardship, often sleeping on the floor and stealing baguettes to survive. He said he ate mustard‑soaked bread and, for about six months, could only afford a cucumber and a slice of cheese.

After roughly a year and a half he earned his first decent wage, leading to the breakout role of Smith Jerrod in the sixth season of *Sex and the City* (2003) and later appearances in the film sequels (2008, 2010).
