Actor Jeff Hiller Nominated for Emmy After Brief 'Pluribus' Performance

Jeff Hiller has been nominated for an Emmy for his seven‑minute supporting role as Larry in Apple TV+’s sci‑fi series Pluribus, created by Vince Gilligan. The brief appearance, in the Season 1 episode “Please, Carol,” has drawn comparisons to the AI chatbot ChatGPT, a point Hiller joked about on The Daily Show.

In the series, a mysterious extraterrestrial virus turns most of humanity into a content hive mind called the “Others,” while a handful of immune individuals, including romance author Carol (Rhea Seehorn), try to understand and resist it. Hiller previously won an Emmy for his work on HBO’s Somebody Somewhere.
