Actor John Turturro stars in The Only Living Pickpocket in New York

Actor John Turturro stars in the film “The Only Living Pickpocket in New York,” written and directed by Noah Segan. In the movie, Turturro portrays Harry Lehman, an aging pickpocket navigating a modern, increasingly digital and cashless New York City.

Turturro, a veteran character actor known for his work with directors such as Spike Lee and the Coen brothers, has frequently drawn inspiration from the diversity of New York City life. He noted that his characters, including Pino from “Do the Right Thing” and Jesus Quintana from “The Big Lebowski,” were often inspired by real people encountered in the city. The new film, released by Sony Pictures Classics, serves as an ode to the analog era of New York.
