Nani’s The Paradise achieves record box office numbers
The Telugu action thriller ‘The Paradise’, starring Nani and directed by Srikanth Odela, has seen a massive commercial launch. The film, set in the 1980s and following the struggle of the fictional Savari tribe, has achieved significant box office milestones. Early reports indicate advance bookings exceeding ₹50 crore, with strong performance in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and North America.
Ahead of the September 24 release, Nani sought permission from Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to attend the premiere at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad to experience the film with fans. The request was made with heightened sensitivity to public safety following a previous fatal stampede at the same location during a ‘Pushpa 2’ premiere. The Chief Minister advised the actor to submit a formal application to local police for crowd management review.
Critical reception has been mixed. While many viewers praised Nani’s intense performance, the film’s visual treatment, and Anirudh Ravichander’s background score, some critics noted a reliance on routine storytelling templates. Netflix has secured the digital streaming rights for the film following its theatrical run.
