Actor Nick Joseph, known for Star Wars, dies at 60

Actor Nick Joseph, recognized for his role in the 1977 film ‘Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope’, has passed away suddenly at the age of 60. Joseph was best known as Major Arhul Hextrophon, one of the characters seen presenting medals during the film’s iconic closing ceremony.

Beyond his appearance in the Star Wars franchise, Joseph had a diverse career in the film and television industry, including work in casting and production. His credits included an uncredited role in the James Bond film ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ and multiple appearances in ‘Doctor Who’. His most recent acting credit was a 2019 appearance in the British series ‘EastEnders’.

His death was confirmed by close friend Rick Stanley, who shared the news on social media, describing Joseph as a ‘great ambassador’ to the Star Wars fan community. Friends and colleagues have expressed their grief, noting that Joseph had appeared in good health at a convention in Newcastle only two weeks prior to his passing.
