Actor Ronit Roy reflects on early struggles in Mumbai
Indian actor Ronit Roy has shared details regarding his difficult beginnings in Mumbai. Upon arriving in the city to pursue acting, he reportedly had only 6 rupees and 20 paise in his pocket.
To support himself, Roy worked in hotel management, performing tasks such as cleaning and washing dishes. He noted that his first salary of 600 rupees was sent entirely to his mother. His career trajectory shifted after an audition for director Deepak Balraj, which led to his casting as the lead in the 1992 film ‘Jaan Tere Naam’.
