Actor Ryo Ryusei discusses career struggles and ambitions

Actor Ryo Ryusei, known for his role in the TBS drama ‘VIVANT’, opened up about his professional anxieties during a feature on the program ‘Jonetsu Tairiku’. In an interview conducted over an 18-month period, the 33-year-old actor reflected on the gap between his ideals and reality.

Ryusei expressed feelings of frustration and stagnation when comparing his career to successful peers in his age group, such as Masaki Suda, Kento Yamazaki, and Ryo Yoshizawa. He noted that while he works tirelessly, he sometimes feels he cannot reach the same level of recognition or leading roles achieved by his contemporaries.

Despite these struggles, Ryusei remains driven by a desire to avoid a life of regret. His career has spanned various high-profile projects, including NHK morning dramas and modeling work at the Paris Collection. He stated that he has reached a point of accepting that comparing himself to others is futile, though he maintains a deep-seated ambition to continue evolving.
