Actor Sam Neill dies, tributes flow from Nicole Kidman and Hollywood peers
Sam Neill, famed for roles in “Jurassic Park” and “Peaky Blinders,” died in Sydney on July 13. His death prompted an outpouring of grief from fellow actors.
Nicole Kidman recalled meeting Neill when she was 18, saying, “He was one of the greats… He was charming, kind, funny and intelligent.” Karl Urban called him “a beautiful man, a national treasure who gave so much to New Zealand and to the world.” Toni Collette wrote, “I love you, dear Sam… you hero, you legend.” Former “Peaky Blinders” co‑stars Finn Cole, Joe Cole and Paul Anderson also paid tribute, and the series’ official Instagram account mourned his loss.
Neill’s family announced that he passed away surrounded by family, noting his dignity and legacy in film and television.
