Actor Tim Robbins turns to ayahuasca to ease anger over cancel culture

Tim Robbins, the actor known for roles in *Mystic River* and *The Shawshank Redemption*, said he underwent an ayahuasca ceremony to release years of frustration with what he describes as the rise of cancel culture. In an interview, he recounted a vivid vision of his late mother, who told him, "You're injured, you’re a warrior, and you need to rest, but the fight’s not over." Robbins explained that he felt "completely lighter" after the experience and wanted to stop feeling "consumed by outrage" over societal divisions, cancelled speech, and strained friendships.

He also compared modern cancel culture to life under the former Soviet Union, noting that people he spoke with in Eastern Europe see similar mechanisms of control and public shaming. The actor’s personal account highlights a growing trend of public figures seeking psychedelic therapy for emotional distress linked to cultural and political debates.
