Actors from ‘To Kafe tis Charas’ discuss wages and experiences

Actors from the popular Greek television series ‘To Kafe tis Charas’ have shared insights regarding their experiences during the show’s production in a recent interview on the YouTube program ‘Tsai me Lemoni’.

Dimitris Tsakalas, who played the character ‘Billy’, revealed that he faced significant financial difficulties during his time on the series. He disclosed that his initial pay was 140 euros per episode, which amounted to approximately 400 euros net per month given the broadcast schedule. Tsakalas noted that he had to seek additional employment because his earnings were insufficient to cover his needs. He also mentioned that he lacked chemistry with co-star Eleni Liaska during the first year of filming, stating they frequently argued before becoming closer in later seasons.

Gerasimos Skiadaresis, known for his role as ‘Fatséa’, discussed his initial hesitation to accept the part. He originally viewed the character as too negative but was eventually persuaded by his wife and creator Harris Roma to take the role, an experience he later described as one of the most enjoyable of his career.
