Actors Guild of Nigeria expands Nollywood's global presence

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) is expanding its international presence through strategic industry initiatives and upcoming celebrations. At the Windsor International Black Film Festival (WIBFF) 2026 in Canada, the AGN introduced The Actors Marketplace (TAMP). This initiative aims to serve as a bridge for Nollywood talent, connecting Nigerian actors and creative professionals with global entertainment opportunities, investments, and casting connections.

In addition to international networking, the AGN has announced plans to celebrate International Actors Day across Nigeria on August 26, 2026. The event is intended to honor performers, advance professional welfare, and highlight the economic importance of the motion picture sector. AGN President Alhaji Abubakar Sanusi Yakubu emphasized that these efforts are designed to reposition Nigerian actors within the global creative economy and foster international collaborations.
