Actress Adrija Roy says genuine friendships are rare in the entertainment industry

Actress Adrija Roy, known for her role as Raahi in the TV series *Anupamaa*, said that forming genuine friendships within the Indian entertainment industry is difficult. She explained that the competitive nature of showbiz means trust takes time to build, and true friendships require honesty, consistency and mutual respect.

Roy added that most of her close friends are from her hometown of Kolkata and are not industry colleagues. She described her long‑time friend Rimpa as more like a sister, emphasizing that simple gestures such as a phone call or a thoughtful message help maintain bonds despite hectic shooting schedules.
