Actress Andrea Růžičková targets fraudulent tradesmen scam

Czech actress Andrea Růžičková has publicly warned against fraudulent business practices after falling victim to a scam involving the so-called ‘Czech Chamber of Tradesmen’. Růžičková reported that while attempting to register as a tradesperson two years ago, she provided her personal details to the entity and paid the requested registration fees for two consecutive years.

Upon discovering that the organization is a private catalog company with no official connection to the state or the official Trade Register, she ceased payments. This resulted in her receiving a pre-litigation notice. Růžičková stated she intends to fight the legal threats and use her experience to warn others.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued warnings regarding these ‘catalog scams’. The Ministry clarifies that there is only one official Trade Register in the Czech Republic, which is state-run, and registration does not require additional annual fees to private entities.
