Actress Diệu Hương recalls 15‑year marriage proposal after serving traditional dish

Vietnamese actress Diệu Hương marked the 15th anniversary of her wedding by sharing a humorous recollection. She said that 15 years ago, on August 5, she drove to the airport to pick up a Vietnamese‑American visitor from the United States. When the guest complained of hunger, she invited him to her family home and prepared a pot of "ốc chuối đậu" (snail, banana, bean stew). After the meal, the visitor asked her to marry him. Diệu Hương delayed her answer for three days before accepting, and the couple later married.

Diệu Hương, born in 1985 in Nam Định, is a well‑known figure in northern Vietnam’s television scene, with credits that include "Luật đời", "Cầu vồng tình yêu", "Bánh đúc có xương", "Cuồng phong" and "Vòng nguyệ". She holds a master’s degree in arts and was the top graduate of the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema.
