Actress Isis Valverde alerts public to gluten contamination risks for celiac patients

Brazilian actress Isis Valverde, who has lived with celiac disease since age 19, posted on social media that she suffered severe symptoms after a probable gluten cross‑contamination during a meal.

She described skin rashes, itching and general malaise, saying it is increasingly difficult to eat out when menus do not clearly label allergens. Valverde urged restaurants, bakeries and other food establishments to list gluten and other allergens on their menus to protect people with celiac disease and similar dietary restrictions.
