Actress Jasna Žalica Explains Leaving and Returning to ‘Lud, zbunjen, normalan’

Bosnian actress Jasna Žalica, 58, is best known for playing Šefika, the household aide in the popular comedy series “Lud, zbunjen, normalan”. She left the show after 36 episodes to pursue other acting jobs that were more attractive at the time, and the series later halted production because of the COVID‑19 pandemic and the death of co‑star Mustafa Nadarević. Žalica returned in the eleventh season, appearing with a short blond haircut, a change that surprised long‑time viewers.

In interviews she recalled Nadarević as a mentor and friend, praising his professionalism and saying working with him was a privilege. Besides her television work, Žalica teaches at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, is married to director Pjer Žalica, and they have a son, Ismar, who is a noted graphic designer.
