Actress Kirsten Storms Says She Won’t Return to Los Angeles or General Hospital Amid Safety Concerns
Actress Kirsten Storms posted a multi‑page Instagram note addressing recent personal turmoil. She clarified that an alleged break‑in at her Los Angeles apartment was reported to building management and police before her ex‑husband Brandon Barash filed an emergency restraining order concerning their 12‑year‑old daughter, Harper Rose. Storms also shared that she has moved out of the apartment and cited ongoing safety worries.
Because of these concerns, Storms said she does not feel comfortable returning to Los Angeles to resume work and therefore will not be returning to her role as Maxie Jones on the ABC soap General Hospital in the near term. She emphasized that her daughter remains her top priority.
The actress thanked fans for their support while noting that the situation has highlighted “the downside of my profession.” No confirmation was given about a potential recast of the character.
