Hanoi students Nguyen Duc Khang and Ngô Xuân Tùng top elite high‑school admissions
Nguyễn Đức Khang, a ninth‑grade student from Hanoi, earned the highest score in the specialised geography exam for the city’s 10‑th‑grade entrance test, achieving 44.25 points. He attributes his success to understanding the meaning behind data, logical reasoning and learning through three family road trips across Vietnam that deepened his geographic knowledge. Khang also holds an IELTS score of 7.0 and a gold medal in the Kangaroo English competition.
Ngô Xuân Tùng, a ninth‑grade student from Cầu Giấy, topped the physics section of the same Hanoi specialised‑school entrance exam with a 9.75/10 in physics and a total of 47.25 points. He prepared by organizing past exercises by topic, studying in groups and reinforcing fundamental concepts. Tùng, who also enjoys mathematics, has won multiple school‑level physics contests and participates in extracurricular activities such as cooking and flower‑arranging.
Both students’ achievements illustrate the competitive nature of Hanoi’s elite high‑school admissions and the disciplined study habits that can lead to top results.
