Actress Laura Cardoso dies at 98

Brazilian actress Laura Cardoso has passed away at the age of 98. Her death was announced by her daughter, Fátima Cardoso, following a period of ill health at her home in the Sumaré neighborhood of São Paulo.

Cardoso enjoyed a career spanning more than seven decades in Brazilian drama. Her filmography included notable roles in productions such as ‘O Rei Pelé’, where she played Pelé’s teacher, and ‘Uma Aventura do Zico’. Her career coincided with several eras of Brazilian football, including the country's World Cup victories in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002.
