Actress María Colla Chiaraviglio detained in Peru for fraud
Argentine actress and therapist María Colla Chiaraviglio was detained by Interpol at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru, on October 4. The arrest was executed following a request from the Prosecutor's Office of the State of Querétaro, Mexico, which had issued an arrest warrant for the alleged crime of generic fraud.
Colla, who has resided in Mexico for several years and worked in the Riviera Maya as a therapist, was attempting to board a flight back to Mexico at the time of her detention. She was subject to an international Red Notice and a migratory alert. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings for her extradition to Mexico to face the charges.
Colla, who is also an architect, has previously been linked to the NXIVM organization. Reports indicate she did not resist arrest and expressed willingness to cooperate with authorities during the operation.
