Actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta promotes Messina's Blue Flag 2026 award

Actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta, a native of Messina, has been appointed the testimonial for the Blue Flag 2026 award granted to the municipality of Messina for the second consecutive year by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). She appears in a promotional video titled “Messina. Un Mare di Libertà”, which showcases three emblematic coastal sites – Capo Peloro, the Ringo, and the Santa Margherita promenade – to highlight the city’s landscape, community, accessibility and environmental respect.

The initiative is driven by the Messina municipal administration and implemented by Messina Social City under the National Metro Plus Programme and the Città Medie Sud 2021‑2027 plan. The video was directed by Andrea Vanadia and produced by Bquadro in collaboration with the BIOS association. It serves both to promote the Blue Flag recognition and to communicate Messina’s commitment to sustainability, urban quality and coastal revitalisation, with the film slated for use in promotional activities over the coming months.
